And 1 Mixtape Tour 2005 in the SAP Arena Mannheim !

In September, when summer is slowly dying down, the AND1 Mixtape Tour rocks the dance floor of large sports arenas in three German cities. For the second time – last time 2003 – the AND1 Mixtape Tour 2005 brought the best of basketball entertainment along to Germany on its tour of  Europe. The Tour gave a guest performance in the SAP ARENA in Mannheim on 25th September.

The Tour combined spectacular US street basketball and renowned HipHop acts. Dunking and shooting contests and, it goes without saying, the game AND1 USA versus AND1 Germany including special guests made the AND1 Mixtape Tour a true titbit for every basket ball enthusiast and  HipHop fan.

Programme sequence
The visitors are an integral part of the show.  A so-called open run was held before every event, at the occasion of which two players were able to qualify as participating players –  it was free for all. The 40 best ballers entered the final round via a play-off procedure and the two AND1 teams then chose one player each for their team, they then ran onto the field with the respective teams at the event.

The best dunkers of the country, among others, accounted for the spectacular supporting programme – they had to delve deep into their bag of tricks against the flyers of the AND1 team. With a little luck the "Big Shot" was where something could be won – a phat  prize: A successful throw  into the basket on the opposite side from the free throw lane was awarded a super prize!

The AND1 Mixtape Team USA  challenged the AND1 Germany Team which lined up with the best players of the AND1 NBA Challenge Team. Last year this team won the title at the NBA Basketball Challenge and is thus the "Best National Streetball Team". The spectators were able to experience an exciting game with spectacular dunkings, quick fast breaks and clever moves.

The event got its true flow from full HipHop. After the game and autographing time the HipHop rhymes and beats set the floor vibrating.
