The German national team lost the European basketball championship final to Greece by 62:78 (32:39). The German team around its superstar Dirk Nowitzki had to capitulate in the face of a powerful Greek team. The best German thrower was Dirk Nowitzki with his 23 points. He earns his living with the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA. Unfortunately the German team was not able to pick up and continue with its performance as shown against Spain in the semi- final.

However, it is a particular pleasure to mention that "TheGerman Wunderkind" was decorated as the Top Scorer of the tournament , an All-Star and MVP.
